Islamabad (Staff Report): Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday ordered the authorities to remove web pages showing blasphemous content.
IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui heard a petition filed by Salman Shahid, seeking removal of web pages showing blasphemous content.
During the proceeding of the case, court ordered Interior Ministry to block all social media if necessary. The court also instructed the ministry to inform Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif about this sensitive issue.
“If the government does not restrict such content, more Mumtaz Qadris will take law into their hands,” the court observed.
PTA chairman informed the court that all six pages have been blocked whereas the authorities would take further action in this regard.
