Pakistan committed to make all-out efforts for peace in Afghanistan: COAS Bajwa

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Friday said Pakistan is committed to making all-out efforts for peace and stability in Afghanistan and supports an all-inclusive Afghan Government, the military’s media wing said on Saturday.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army chief said this while talking to visiting US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman, who called on him in Rawalpindi.

During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security situation and collaboration in humanitarian measures in Afghanistan were discussed.

The ISPR’s statement read that the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s role regarding the situation in the neighbouring country, especially its assistance in the successful evacuation operations following the Taliban takeover.

Wendy Sherman also pledged to continue working with Pakistan for regional peace, the statement added.
