Edgbaston, Birmingham (Staff Report): England beat Australia by 40 runs under the Duckworth–Lewis (D/L) method in a rain-affected match of Champions Trophy 2017 at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on Saturday.

England knocked out Australia in a must-win match of the tournament.

Earlier, Australia set a victory target of 278 runs in allotted fifty overs for England.
