PM Shehbaz likely to meet his Indian counterpart at SCO summit

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif likely to meet his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi at Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit scheduled to be held on September 15-16 in Samarkand.

According to diplomatic sources, other leaders include country heads of China, Russia and Iran will also hold meeting with PM Shehbaz.

Uzbekistan took over the chairmanship of the organization from Tajikistan on September 17, 2021 and this year the moot will discuss various matters, including, development of intraregional trade.

Earlier, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said: “India is our neighbouring country. While one can decide on a lot of things, one cannot choose its neighbours, therefore, we should get used to living with them.”

Bilawal recalled that after 2019, constructive dialogue with India became difficult, while statements based on Islamophobia by Indian officials are further creating hurdles in dialogue.
