Hamza Shehbaz gets 14-day extension for stay in London

Lahore (Staff Report): The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday granted a 14-day extension for Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hamza Shehbaz Sharif for his stay in London.

In his petition, Hamza had sought an extension so he could stay with his new-born daughter who has been diagnosed with a serious cardiac issue and must undergo surgery.

On Jan 30, The Interior Ministry on Wednesday permitted Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz to travel abroad.

On Jan 16, the LHC allowed Hamza to travel abroad for a period of 10 days.

Hamza had petitioned the court that Interior Ministry had placed his name on the Exit Control List (ECL).

Last year, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) barred Opposition Leader in the Punjab Assembly from leaving the country.

Hamza was offloaded from a plane of Qatar Airways, 620, bound for Doha.

Hamza, along with his younger brother Salman Shehbaz, is facing the NAB’s investigations regarding assets beyond income and had sought protective bail from the LHC.
