COVID-19: Pakistan reports 1,877 new cases, 32 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 504,293 on Monday after 1,877 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall, 226,338 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 145,508 in Punjab, 61,424 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 18,412 in Balochistan, 39,242 in Islamabad, 4,880 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and  8,489 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 10,676 with 32 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 458,371 after another 1,402 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has urged the people to follow precautionary measures in order to avoid the spread of COVID-19.

In his tweets on Monday, the minister referred to the devastation unfolding in the United States (US) and the United Kingdom (UK) due to the pandemic.

He said we will have to play our role and do the right things to save lives and livelihoods.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 88.3 million and death toll tops 1.9 million.
