LHC adjourns Punjab CM vote of no confidence case until Thursday

Lahore (Staff Report/Agencies): The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday adjourned Punjab Chief Minister Pervez Elahi’s case until Thursday 9am.

A five member bench headed by Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh, comprising Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh, Justice Muzamil Akhtar Shabir, and Justice Asim Hafeez, heard the case.

During the today’s hearing, the court remarked that the governor can determine the date of a vote of confidence he is seeking from the chief minister in an ongoing session.

Elahi had challenged Governor Baligh Ur Rehman’s order to de-notifying the Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader as the Punjab chief minister.

The governor had de-notified CM Elahi last month after he failed to take a vote of confidence from the Punjab Assembly.
