COVID-19: Pakistan reports 391 new cases, 9 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,279,142 on Friday after 637 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 473,052 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 441,631 in Punjab, 178,926 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 33,383 in Balochistan, 107,249 in Islamabad, 10,400 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,501 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 38,524 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 1.01%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,584 with 9 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,227,208 after another 322 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, 76,784,188 people have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine including 644,833 in last 24 hours. 46,660,734 citizens have been fully vaccinated while 673,802 received their second dose in last 24 hours.

The number of total administered doses has reached to 116,131,086 with 1,239,916 in the last 24 hours.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 252.702 million and death toll tops 5,096,713.
