The century was 20th hundred of Gayle’s prolific T20 career, the most by any player in the shortest format of official professional cricket.

With this, he also completed 11,000 T20 runs of his career. The most by any player in this format. He also became the only player to have scored 11,000 or more runs in each of all three formats of professional Cricket (First Class, List A and T20).

His individual score, 146*, is also the highest ever in a T20 final.
