Islamabad (Web Desk): The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Saturday announced September 18 as the date for the hearing of former premier Nawaz Sharif's plea against his conviction in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills reference.
A two-judge IHC division bench comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani will hear the plea.
The court will also hear the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) appeal against the acquittal of Nawaz Sharif acquittal in the Flagship Investment reference on the same day.
The date for hearing the appeals has been set for the month of September due to court’s summer vacations.
On December 24, the accountability court 2 of Islamabad had handed a seven-year imprisonment to Nawaz Sharif along with a fine of Rs1.5 billion and $ 25 million in the Al Azizia Steel Mills/ Hill Metal Establishment reference. It had, however, acquitted him in the Flagship Investment reference.
