Pakistan reports highest number of daily Covid-19 cases since July

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): Pakistan on Friday reported at least 2,304 COVID-19 cases during the last 24 hours, the highest number of daily cases since July.

The virus also claimed the lives of 37 people across the country in the last 24 hours. Covid-19 deaths have sharply increased during the current month.

Meanwhile, the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) on Wednesday recommended fresh restrictions including early and extended winter vacations for students in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The NCOC meeting, chaired by Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar recommended ban on all public gatherings of more than five hundred people, early and extended winter vacations; closure of cinemas, theatres and shrines with immediate effect; and only outdoor dining till 10 pm at restaurants and take away.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 50.3 million and death toll tops 1.27 million.
