'Over 8,000 Sikh pilgrims to visit Pakistan for Guru Nanak's birth anniversary'

Islamabad (Web Desk): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhary on Saturday said that more than 8,000 Sikh Yatrees from all over the will visit Pakistan to celebrate the birth anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.

“Welcome to the land of Gurus, Sufis and Yugis,” the minister wrote in a post on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued around 3,000 visas to Indian Sikh Yatrees to participate in the 552nd Birth Anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak.

The commission extended “profound felicitations to the Sikh community in India and across the world”, wishing the Sikh pilgrims “a spiritually rewarding yatra” during their visit to Pakistan.

During their stay in Pakistan, the Sikh Yatrees would pay obeisance at different Gurdwaras including Gurdwara Janam Asthan in Nankana Sahib and Gurdawara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur.
