NAB to probe closure of Roosevelt Hotel

Islamabad (Web Desk): National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairperson Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has taken the notice of reports that the historic Roosevelt Hotel will be closed by the end of this month.

According to a press release issued by the anti-graft body, Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has directed the Rawalpindi bureau’s director-general to probe into the reasons behind the decision to shutter Roosevelt Hotel, which is Pakistan’s “national asset”.

Meanwhile, rejecting the impression that Pakistan International Airline’s Roosevelt Hotel in New York has been sold out, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Shibli Faraz said Pakistan has paid the liabilities of the hotel worth 1,28, 000 US dollars and acquired it full ownership.

He said the cabinet was informed that PIA has successfully increased its revenue.
