COVID-19: Pakistan reports 1,021 new cases, 21 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,260,669 on Wednesday after 1,021 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 463,703 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 436,720 in Punjab, 176,194 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 33,092 in Balochistan, 106,241 in Islamabad 10,359 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,360 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 43,578 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 2.34%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,173 with 21 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,191,425 after another 1,683 virus recoveries were reported.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 239.513 million and death toll tops 4,882,224.
