New York (Agencies) Pakistan's envoy to the United Nations Dr Maleeha Lodhi has presented a letter to the Security Council asking for an urgent meeting on the deteriorating situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir.

Lodhi presented the letter to UN Security Council President and Polish Ambassador Joanna Wronecka.

The Council president will hold consultations with the Council members and fix a date for the meeting.

Earlier, Pakistan has asked the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to summon its session over India’s move to revoke Article 370.

In a letter, written by Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi to the UNSC president, has requested that the Indian act, which ia unconstitutional and against the conventions of the United Nations, should be discussed in a session.

“We are willing to go to any lengths for our defence,” stated the foreign minister, adding that the events of February 2018 stand as a testimony to his statement.
