COVID-19: Pakistan reports 2,662 new cases, 44 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,486,361 on Monday after 2,662 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 558,826 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 495,430 in Punjab, 210,726 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 35,096 in Balochistan, 133,112 in Islamabad, 11,193 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 41,978 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 47,307 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 5.62 %.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 29,801 with 29 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,379,921 after another 4,293 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of National Health Services wrote on Monday said that Pakistan has achieved a major COVID vaccination milestone as the total vaccine doses administered have surpassed 200 million!”

“Together, we can turn the tide against COVID-19 by getting fully vaccinated,” the ministry tweeted.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 412,307 million and death toll tops 5,834,791.
