Imran terms Mastung incident a conspiracy to delay elections

Quetta (Staff Report): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that suicide attack in Mastung was a conspiracy to sabotage law and order situation in the province to delay the polls.

Addressing a press conference at Quetta after visiting CMH, Imran Khan said that Pakistan’s internal and external enemies were behind the Mastung attack.

A total of 131 people were martyred after a suicide attack at Nawab Siraj Raisani's election meeting in Darenghar area of Mastung.

Terming Raisani an asset to his party and a diehard patriot, Imran said he realised the true scale of the Mastung tragedy after meeting the victims' families.

Responding to a query, he said though as compare to the past, the prevailing law and order situation in the country has improved a lot.

Imran Khan also criticized the former federal government for allegedly rigging the 2013 general election.

He said that the PTI will not form a government with the alliance of corrupt people.

The PTI chairman said that non implementation of National Action Plan caused an irreparable loss to the stability and sovereignty of the country.

Imran Khan also visited CMH and inquired about health of those who were injured in a suicide bomb attack on a corner meeting of Balochistan Awami Party in Darin Garh area of District Mastung district on Friday.

Earlier, Caretaker Prime Minister Nasir-ul-Mulk visited Quetta on Sunday as the nation observes national day of mourning to pay tribute to the victims of Mastung and KP terrorist incidents.

Mastung suicide attack was one of the deadliest terror attacks in the country which claimed at least 128 lives including Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) candidate from PB-35 constituency, Nawabzada Siraj Raisani.
