NCOC allows to open markets, shops till 8PM from Monday onwards

Islamabad (Web Desk): The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has decided to allow markets and shops to remain open till 8pm from May 17 onwards.

A special session of the NCOC held Saturday under the chair of Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar reviewed the implementation of SOPs over the Eidul Fitr holidays and expressed satisfaction on compliance.

The meeting also decided to allow markets and shops to remain open till 8pm from May 17 (Monday) onwards.

The forum also decided that all inter-provincial, intra-city and inter-city public transport can resume from May 16 instead of the earlier decided May 17. It was further decided to continue runing trains with 70pc occupancy in the country.

The NCOC also said that normal working hours for offices will resume from May 17, with the condition of 50pc work from home to remain in place.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 874,751 on Saturday after 1,531 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

According to the NCOC, about 3,836,291 people have been vaccinated so far, with the latest vaccination administration figure across Pakistan on May 12 being 113,302.

The country’s death toll climbed to 19,467 after 83 more people succumbed to the deadly disease during the last 24 hours.

At least 783,480 have been patients recovered from the deadly disease.
