COVID-19: Pakistan reports 1,086 new cases, 27 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,262,771 on Friday after 1,086 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 464,746 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 437,316 in Punjab, 176,501 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 33,108 in Balochistan, 106,357 in Islamabad 10,363 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,380 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 53,590 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 2.02%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,228 with 27 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, Ministry of National Health Services on Friday tweeted that 95.4 million COVID-19 doses have been administered till now.

The ministey added that 10.06 Lakh doses were administered during last 24 hours.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 240.416 million and death toll tops 4,897,717.
