Educational institutions reopen across Pakistan amid COVID-19 SOPs

Lahore/Islamabad (Staff Report/Agencies): Educational institutions across the country reopened today (Monday) after a six-month coronavirus break.


The government had decided to close school, colleges and universities in March in order to curb the spread of coronavirus. Sindh, however, had suspebded educational activities in the province on February 27 after detection of first COVID-19 case in Karachi.

On September 7, Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood had announced that all educational institutions across the country would reopen in phases from Sept 15.

Punjab Minister for School Education Dr Murad Raas said in a tweet, “All Public & Private Schools of Punjab to open on following schedule. Classes 9-12 to start on 15th. “Classes 6-8 to start Sept 22nd. Classes Nursury-5 to start on 30th. No Double Shift.

“Alternative Day Schedule to be followed by all Public & Private Schools,” the minister added.
