Pakistan remembers APS martyrs on eighth anniversary

The nation on Friday remembered the martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar attack as today (Friday) marks the eighth anniversary of the tragedy.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif remembered the victims of, saying this day is a message to the whole world that Pakistan has made great sacrifices to eradicate terrorism.

 “Every year, December 16 reminds the entire nation of the agony and sorrow when the terrorists carried out atrocities in APS Peshawar,” the premier said in a tweet and added, “The Pakistani nation will never forget the sacrifices of its martyrs.”

PTI Secretary General Asad Umar said that the worst tragedy in the history of Pakistan took place on December 16.

PTI leader Faisal Javed said that the whole nation pays homage to the great sacrifices by the young martyrs of Army Public School today.

At least 147 people, mostly students, martyred in the deadly attack on the APS in 2014. The wounds of the parents are yet to be healed. Their eyes are still wet and swollen in remembrance of their beloved children.
