COVID-19: Pakistan reports 2,327 new cases, 31 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 983,719 on Friday after 2,327 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 352,472 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 349,475 in Punjab, 139,960 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 28,704 in Balochistan, 84,266 in Islamabad, 7,210 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 21,632 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 37,690 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 6.17%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 22,720 with 31 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 917,329 after another 956 virus recoveries were reported.

Meanwhile, the National Institute of Health (NIH) has reportedly approached multiple public and private research institutions in the country seeking their input in data sharing related to COVID-19 research for a national consortium.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 189.750 million and death toll tops 4,083,260.
