COVID-19: Pakistan reports 665 new infections, 4 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Pakistan reached 290,760 on Wednesday after another 499 virus recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours.


Over the last twenty four hours, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 303,089 after 665 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country.

Overall, 132,591 cases were reported in Sindh, 97,946 in Punjab, 37,140 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 13,690 in Balochistan, 15,984 in Islamabad, 3,297 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 2,441 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 6,393 with 4 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

Meanwhile, India's COVID-19 tally crossed the 5 million mark, with a single-day jump of 90,123 infections in the last 24 hours.

India is only the second country in the world to cross the grim milestone of 5 million cumulative cases, after the US.

The country's death toll is now at 82,066, with 1,290 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 29.6 million and death toll tops 934,000.
