Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa received the United Arab Emirate's (UAE) highest civil award, Order of the Union Medal, for making significant contributions in furthering bilateral ties between the two countries, the military's media wing said on Wednesday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), President of UAE Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan conferred the award on COAS Bajwa at a ceremony in Abu Dhabi.
The ISPR said that General Qamar Javed Bajwa also called upon the President of UAE, H.H Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Matters of mutual interest, bilateral defense and security cooperation and regional security situation were discussion during the meeting.
"The two leaders agreed that Pakistan and UAE share a great history of cordial relations and deep rooted spirit of brotherhood which is transforming into an enduring partnership," the military's media wing said.
