PM Imran launches Scholarship Complaint Portal for students

Islamabad (Web Desk): Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday launched Scholarship Complaint Portal for early redressal of complaints related to the educational scholarships.

Addressing the launching ceremony in Islamabad, the premier said that the primary objective of the portal is to establish an exclusive facility for students getting education on scholarship for their help and resolution of complaints.

PM Imran said that the portal will also ensure transparency and meritocracy in the scholarship process.

"Meritocracy will provide opportunity to the segments lagging behind to grow," Imran Khan said.

He said that a panel of academics will monitor the portal and new subjects and disciplines will be added for scholarships as per market demand.

PM Imran emphasised on exploiting revolution in information technology for progress of the country.

Linked with the Prime Minister Citizen Portal, the facility would help the scholarship holders to register their complaints regarding the problems faced by them, besides ensuring the judicious use of the allocated resources.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Federal Education Shafqat Mahmood said the government has increased the number of scholarships for post graduate and undergraduate students, which is unprecedented in the history of Pakistan.

He said the government has established 28 new universities and allocated Rs123 billion for higher education.

The minister said the government's initiative of Single National Curriculum will prove to be a milestone in national building.
