COVID-19: Pakistan reports 3,232 new cases, 74 deaths in last 24 hours

Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 880,362 on Monday after 3,232 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.

Overall 299,194 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 327,362 in Punjab, 127,038 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 23,866 in Balochistan, 79,221 in Islamabad, 5,423 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 18,258 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

As per National Command and Operation (NCOC), data 36,725 tests were conducted while positivity ratio remained 8.8%.

According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 19,617 with 74 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.

The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country has reached 792,522.

Meanwhile, the NCOC has announced that all markets and shops will remain open till 8pm from today (Monday).

The forum stated all offices will also resume normal working hours from with 50% However, ban on tourism will continue till further notice.

All types of indoor and outdoor dining will be prohibited whereas takeaways will be allowed round the clock.

The NCOC will meet again on Wednesday to review the implementation of the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 161.5 million and death toll tops 3.3 million.
