PM Imran will soon take a U-turn on his U-turn statement: Khawaja Asif

Islamabad (Staff Report): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Asif on Saturday mocked PM Imran Khan’s statement that one who does not take “U-turns” according to the demand of the situation is not a true leader.

The former foreign minister took to twitter and said “Imran Khan will take a U-turn on his U-turn statement as well. Please wait, it won’t be too long.”

On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan, during an interaction with the senior journalists, said that a leader who does not take a U-turn is not a real leader.

The prime minister, citing an example from his cricket days when he was captain of Pakistan's national cricket team, said, "We used to make a strategy and then step out into the field but if the opponent team formed a strategy against ours then we would have to change it."

“If Adolf Hitler and Napoleon Bonaparte had taken U-turns, they would not have suffered huge defeats and would not have caused such heavy losses”, PM Khan added.

Khawaja Asif is not the first one to criticise the PM for his statement.

Reacting to PM Imran Khan’s statement, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khursheed Shah on Friday said, “Imran Khan is Hitler and is taking U-turns to avoid losses.”

“He (Khan) has made it clear and told the nation that he is Hitler,” Shah added.

Khursheed Shah said that the PM was was also sending a message that Hitler had failed because he did not take a U-turn while he would be successful as he would take a U-turn.

Shah asserted that no Hitler, who was also a dictator, has ever been successful in history.

Meanwhile, talking to media persons in Lahore on Saturday, President Arif Alvi said he too has taken "U-turns".

The president added that the decisions are taken according to the situations.

Defending PM Imran’s statement, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed tweeted that "U Turn" is Evaluation. It is Assessment, Rating, Estimation, Ranking, Weighing up, Consideration, Analysis.

Proper evaluation of results (whether to take a U Turn or not) is crucial. There is a huge difference between "A U Turn" and "A Blatant Lie".
