Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Haji Ghulam Ali on Wednesday approved Chief Minister Mahmood Khan’s advice for the dissolution of the provincial assembly.
A notification from the governor was dispatched to CM Mahmood and Leader of the Opposition Akram Khan Durrani states that the KP Assembly and provincial cabinet were dissolved with immediate effect under Clause 1 of Article 112 of the Constitution.

On late Tuesday, KP Chief Minister sent the summary for the dissolution of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly.
PTI Chairman Imran Khan has directed the CM to send the summary for the assembly’s disbandment to KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali.
CM Mahmood said that the decision to dissolve the assembly had been taken in the wider interest of Pakistan.
