Four civilians martyred in Indian ceasefire violation along LoC: ISPR

Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Four innocent civilians, including a woman, were martyred while another got injured as Indian troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday night.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Indian army troops initiated unprovoked ceasefire violations targeting the civilian population at Ratta Jabbar and Lewana Khaiter villages in Nikial and Bagsar sectors along the LoC.

Four civilians including a woman in Ratta Jabbar and Lewana Khaiter village lost their lives in the incident.

According to ISPR, Pakistan Army troops responded effectively to Indian firing.

Indian ceasefire violations have witnessed a surge since August 5 last year when New Delhi abrogated the special status of Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K).

In 2020, India has so far committed over 1,100 truce violations.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pakistan Army’s top brass resolved to continue thwarting Indian designs and expose Indian targeting of innocent civilians in Kashmir and open support to terrorist outfits, the military’s media wing said after the Corps Commander’s Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
