Pakistan seeks Chinese investment in marble production

Islamabad (Web Desk): Pakistan’s Federal Minister of Industries and Production Ghulam Murtaza Khan invited China to invest in Pakistan’s marble production while talking to Chinese investor Li Jianxin in a meeting at the Ministry of Industries and Production.

Pakistan Stone Development Company (Pasdec) Chairman Agha Shahid also attended the meeting.

Ghulam Murtaza Khan Jatoi has said that Chinese investors should invest in Pakistan’s growing stone industry as the country has a huge demand for marble.

Jatoi said, “There was a huge potential of investment in Pakistan in stone polishing, engineering, mining, energy and infrastructure. China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) has opened new horizons of industrial investment between the two countries”.

The minister voiced hope that the industrial relationship would help Pakistan learn a lot from Chinese experience. He pointed out that there was a lot of room for building bridges to link the two nations.

Chinese investor Li said, “Hebei Jianxin Architectural Group is prepared to invest in the stone industry and real estate.” This architectural Group would also introduce new technology in Pakistan through modern-style marble polishing, flooring, ceiling and wall gilding.

He expressed the interest that the group wants to establish an industrial estate in Karachi”. He invited Jatoi to visit China.

Responding to the interest shown by the Chinese group, Jatoi said the Bin Qasim and National Industrial Parks had the space for the project and also offered his ministry’s assistance ever Chinese group went for a joint venture with Pasdec.
