Rawalpindi (Web Desk): Two Pakistani civilians were martyred in “unprovoked” Indian firing at the Line of Control (LoC) on Sunday.
According to a statement by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Indian Army "targeted civil population with mortars and Anti Tank Guided Missiles in Hot Spring Sector along LOC".
"Two elderly innocent civilians Lal Muhamamd S/O of Muhamamd Din, age 75 years and Hassan Din S/O Lal Din age 61 years, residents of Village Nagrai embraced shahdat," the military's media wing said.
In its retaliatory fire, the Pakistan Army reportedly killed two Indian Army soldiers and injured many others.
"Reportedly 2 Indian army soldiers killed and many injured as Pakistan Army engaged posts from where fire was directed," the ISPR's statement added.
The incident comes two days after a soldier of the Pakistan Army Sepoy Muhammad Sheraz embraced martyrdom due to unprovoked firing by the Indian troops in Buttal Sector along the Line of Control (LoC).
Earlier on August 15, three soldiers were martyred in firing by Indian forces from across the LOC.
The Pakistani soldiers who lost their lives were identified as Naik Tanveer, Lance Naik Taimoor, and Sepoy Ramazan.
