PIA’s Lahore-Kuala Lumpur flight diverted to Karachi over 'technical issue'

Lahore (Staff Report): A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight from Lahore to Kuala Lumpur has been diverted to Karachi due after a technical fault developed in the plane.

PIA spokesman Danyal Gilani said upon landing in Karachi, the aircraft was replaced with an alternate plane before flight PK-898 took off for the Malaysian capital at 4:00am local time.

“The flight was diverted due to technical reasons,” he confirmed.

On Sunday, PIA’s employees sacrificed a black goat at Benazir Bhutto Airport Islamabad, a moments before the ATR jet took off for the first time after shakedown tests, to seek divine intervention to keep a flight safe and secure. December 07, the ATR-42 aircraft of the PIA crashed into the hillside near Havelian area of district Abbottabad, killing all 42 passengers including Junaid Jamshed and five crew members onboard.
