Japanese woman arrives Pakistan to marry her love 

Sadiqabad (Staff Report): A Japanese woman Maria Edlen accepted Islam and reached Sadiqabad to marry love of her life.

The woman, Maria Edlen reached Sadiqabad to marry Ahmed Noor, a thirty years old resident of Shamsabad in Khanpur area of Sadiqabad. Both became friends through Facebook about nine months ago and gradually they fall in love with each other. She has changed her name to Maria Ahmed and converted to Islam.

Ahmed Noor said while talking to media, “Maria has traveled to my home all the way from Japan.”

He said that their families have given consent for marriage. “We are marrying with our parent’s consent”, he added.

Maria expressed her views while talking to media, “I have come to Pakistan from my homeland to marry Ahmed after realizing that the people here are very loving”. She admitted that she converted to Islam upon Ahmed s invitation towards his religion but she made the decision herself only after researching about Islam and Pakistan.

She further said, “We will shift to Japan after getting married and completing the legal process.” The couple chanted slogan of ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ to express their love for the country.

A similar instance happened in December 2016 when a French woman travelled to Rahim Yar Khan to marry a 29-year-old man, Umair Ahmed, whom she virtually met, on Facebook. 

The French woman, Katherine Louvet, had converted to Islam, naming herself Ayesha.
