Bhakkar (Staff Report): At least people including two women were killed as a bus rammed into a rickshaw in Bhakkar district of Punjab on Sunday afternoon.
As per details, a woman and a young girl were among eight dead while ten others were injured when a bus rammed into a rickshaw in Panj Garaien area of the district.
After receiving the information, rescue teams reached the spot and shifted the injured persons to DHQ Bhakkar.
Meanwhile, enraged area residents came out on the streets after the accident and attempted to set the bus alight. The mob broke the bus’ glasses and also set tyres on fire and blocked the main road.
The mob raised slogans against the patrolling police for failing to stop heavy traffic on main highways. A heavy contingent of Punjab Police was deployed to prevent further violence.
