Missing clerics of Hazrat Nizamuddin Auliya Shrine safely return to Karachi

Karachi (Staff Report): The two Indian clerics of Hazrat Nizamuddin shrine’s Sajjada Nashin of Delhi have safely returned to Karachi three days after they had gone missing in Pakistan.

Syed Saeed Asif Ali Nizami and Nazim Nizami, who belong to the Nizamuddin Auliya shrine in New Delhi, had come from India to meet his relatives in Pakistan when they are believed to have gone missing from Lahore on Wednesday evening after attending the shrine. His disappearance was informed by Indian High Commissioner (IHC).

However, both clerics have returned to Karachi on Saturday. They said that they had gone to visit their followers in interior Sindh, but were unable to get in touch with relatives because of non-availability of cellular network there.

Syed Sajid Ali Nizami, son of Syed Asif Ali Nizami said on Friday, "My father and cousin went missing since March 14. We are really upset. We appeal Pakistani authorities to ensure their early recovery.”

The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Nafees Zakariya, said that all the concerned departments were investigating into the matter.

FO spokesman said, "The FO has received Indian MEA's request through Pakistan high commission in New Delhi last evening."

Zakariya added, "We referred the matter to the concerned quarters and they are actively pursuing it."
