Rescue under way after boat capsizes in Indus River

Karachi (Staff Report): Operation for the recovery of at least five missing passengers, who were drowned after a ferry capsized in Indus River near Sindh's Matiari district, is still under.

At least 12 people including women and children were drowned after a boat capsized in Indus River.

As per details, the boat moving from villages in Matiari to Jamshoro districts overturned due to rain and dust storm.

Deputy Commissioner Jamshoro Capt (r) Fariddudin Mustafa told the local media that the help of Pakistan Navy had been sought for the search and rescue.

The police and district administration Jamshoro informed that 6 dead bodies had been pulled out while the search and rescue for the rest was underway.

The police informed that 4 women and 2 men were among the deceased pulled out from the river.
