Kabul (Web Desk): At least 40 Afghan soldiers were killed and 24 others wounded in a bomb attack on Wednesday night at a Afghan National Army base in Maiwand district in Kandahar, TOLO news reported.
According to sources, the two suicide attackers detonated their explosive-laden Humvee while other insugents stormed the base.
“First one of the suicide bombers detonated his explosives with a Humvee vehicle and the other insurgents opened fire on security forces,” a source told TOLO news. “The base did not fall to the Taliban but while the clash was going on foreign troops carried out an airstrike which killed 10 Taliban insurgents.”
