Kashmiri leader Farida Behanji arrested

Srinagar (Web Desk): In Indian held Kashmir, Chairperson of Jammu and Kashmir Mass Movement Farida Behanji has been taken into custody by Indian police today (Monday), along with party leaders Maulvi Bashir Ahmad, Abdur Rashid and dozens of activists in Srinagar,

Farida Behanji along with party leaders and activists had organized a protest demonstration not only to condemn Indian election drama in the territory but also for the recovery of detained party activists including Javed Ahmad Shala and Muhammad Siddiq Sofi at Aabi Guzur in Srinagar.  

During the protest Farida Behanji and Maulvi Bashir Ahmad addressed the protesters and urged the international community to influence India to resolve the Kashmir dispute.

So-called puppet minister Abdul Haq and member assembly Nazir Ahmad Laway and Abdul Majeed Padru were also present in the convention where several workers were attacked with stones and injured during a so-called election convention in Chewgam area of Kulgam district.
