PSL spot-fixers to appear before FIA today

Islamabad (Staff Report): The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) summoned the players, suspended for alleged involvement in spot-fixing during Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017 to present before FIA today (Monday).

According to details, all the alleged players will appear before FIA to record their statements regarding the spot fixing scandal. The four cricketers will record their statements in the case at FIA office located at Lahore.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan will make the final decision on FIA’s suggestion.

The tribunal formed to investigate the scandal will start working next week.

Earlier on Sunday, in a letter, FIA asked the interior ministry to put their names on the Exit Control List (ECL). “The agency has written a letter to Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar in which it has requested that the names of Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Irfan, Shahzaib Hasan and Nasir Jamshed be included on the ECL.”

Cricketers Sharjeel Khan, Khalid Latif, Mohammad Irfan and Shahzaib Hasan have been provisionally suspended from all forms of cricket for violating the Pakistan Cricket Board’s anti-corruption code.
