Maulana Fazl ur Rehman appointed MMA chief

Karachi (Staff Report): Religious-political parties on Tuesday announced to appoint Maulana Fazlur Rehman as the chief of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal.

Senior leader of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Liaqat Baloch, made the announcement of the decision to revive MMA and appointment of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman as the president.

The decision to revive MMA was made in November last year.

The newly appointed president congratulated the entire nation on the revival of the party.

Speaking to media, Rehman said all parties will be given equal importance for decision making within the alliance. He also stated that MMA is in favour of giving equal rights to minorities.

Speaking on the occasion, JI Chief Siraj-ul-Haq said that the MMA had begun its journey with a new resolve and it will represent the citizens on all platforms.
