Pakistan reports 3876 COVID cases, 42 deaths during last 24 hours

Islamabad/Lahore/Karachi (Staff Report/Agencies): Pakistan on Saturday reported 3,876 new coronavirus cases with 42 deaths during last 24 hours.

With the new cases, the total number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan reached 623,135 and the active cases in the country stand at 27,188.

According to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), at least 40,946 tests were carried out in the last 24 hours out of which 3,876 returned positive, taking the national positivity ratio to 9.46 percent.

A breakdown of the total cases showed that 262,796 cases have been detected in Sindh, 195,087 cases in Punjab, 78,653 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 19,306 in Balochistan, 50,843 in Islamabad, 4,967 in Gilgit Baltistan, 11,483 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Total number of coronavirus cases across the country surge to 623,135 and the active cases stand at 27,188. Pakistan reported 42 deaths during last 24 hours taking the nationwide death tally to 13,799.

Last time, the country reported more cases than this was on July 2, 2020, when 4,432 cases were recorded.
