Islamabad (Web Desk): PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry has categorically denied that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is not part of any ‘foreign-funded’ campaign against Army chief General Asim Munir.
Fawad’s remarks comes after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Monday censured PTI Chairman Imran Khan for brazenly attempting to tarnish the reputation of Chief of the Army Staff (COAS).
“PTI’s disgusting smear campaign against Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir at the behest of Imran Niazi is deserving of the strongest condemnation,” the premier said in a tweet.
This man Niazi is stooping to unprecedented lows in his desperation for power & going to the extent of damaging the country & undermining our armed forces & their leadership. /2 https://t.co/Tt1SfhylXv— Shehbaz Sharif (@CMShehbaz) March 20, 2023
“The campaign against the army chief is intolerable and a continuation of the conspiracy against the institutions,” read a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).
The premier called on patriotic Pakistanis living abroad to raise their voices against the “foreign-funded campaign” and not become a part of such conspiracies.
