Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Pakistan rose to 1,281,559 on Saturday after 319 new cases surfaced in the country during the last 24 hours.
Overall 473,918 cases were confirmed in Sindh, 442,353 in Punjab, 179,473 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 33,432 in Balochistan, 107,447 in Islamabad, 10,406 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 34,530 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
As per the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) data, 39,200 tests were conducted in last 24 hours while positivity ratio remained 0.81%.
According to the government's COVID-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached to 28,655 with 7 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, total number of recovered COVID-19 patients across the country reached 1,230,425 after another 331 virus recoveries were reported.
Meanwhile, the government suspended the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination campaign for 12-15 year olds till November 27 due to ongoing MR campaign, the NCOC said in a tweet on Saturday.
Moreover, the United States (US) has opened COVID-19 booster shots to all adults and taken the extra step of urging people 50 and older to seek one, aiming to ward off a winter surge as coronavirus cases rise even before millions of Americans travel for the holidays.
It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 257.012 million and death toll tops 5,156,514.
