Naqeebullah case: ATC sends Rao Anwar on judicial remand till May 2

Karachi (Staff Report): Former SSP Malir Rao Anwar on Saturday was produced before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi as his physical remand expires today.

According to details, ATC resumed hearing of Naqeebullah Mehsud’s extrajudicial killing case today and police brought SSP Malir in strict security arrangements made outside the court in presence of additional contingent.

Moreover, police produced twelve detained culprits of the case. 
The family of the victim and members of jirga were also present in the court to witness the hearing.

The investigation officer, SSP Central Dr Rizwan, told the court that investigation is not complete yet, a joint investigation team (JIT) has been formulated and final chargesheet will be submitted after completion of inquiry.

The court granted time to the investigation officer and adjourned the cast till May 2 on the request of the investigation officer.

The court sent Rao Malir and constable Shakeel to jail on judicial remand while extended judicial remand of former DSP Qamar Ahmed and ten others.
