CSM case: Maryam Nawaz, Yousuf Abbas's remand extended by 14 days

Lahore (Staff Report): An accountability court in Lahore on Wednesday extended Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz and her cousin Yousuf Abbas's physical remand by 14 days in Chaudhry Sugar Mills (CSM) case.

According to details Maryam Nawaz and her cousin Yousuf Abbas were produced before the accountability court amid strict security arrangements.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) requested for 15-day extension in their physical remand of Maryam and Yousuf.

During today’s proceedings, NAB's prosecutor said that the investigations with Maryam had not yet been completed and requested an extension in remand for that purpose.

In response, Maryam's counsel Amjad Pervez said that the investigation had been carried out in all cases and the trial had been completed.

The court remanded the duo into the accountability watchdog's custody for 14 days and ordered to produce them on September 4.

On August 8, NAB had arrested Maryam along with her cousin Yousaf Abbas in the CSM case.
