Islamabad (Agencies): Prime Minister Imran Khan has left for Qatar on two-day official visit at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani.
During the visit, the prime minister will call on the Emir of Qatar and will also meet the Prime Minister of Qatar.
Besides meetings with Qatari leadership, Prime Minister Imran Khan will meet business and investment community of Qatar. The prime minister will also discuss the matter of exporting labour to Qatar.
Prime Minister Imran Khan will also address Pakistani community during the visit.
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Finance Minister Asad Umar, Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Adviser to PM Abdul Razak Dawood, SAPM Zulfikar Bukhari, Chairman BOI Haroon Sharif and Chairperson Task Force on Energy Nadeem Babar are accompanying the Prime Minister.
Last year, the Qatari foreign minister in a meeting with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly had offered 100,000 jobs for skilled and semi-skilled workers from Pakistan.
PM Imran has also previously called for increased trade between the two countries.
The trade between the two countries had increased by 104 per cent to about $1.6 billion in 2017 from $782 million in 2016.
