China and Russia agree to enhance strategic cooperation, consolidate bilateral ties

Moscow (Web Desk): China and Russia have agreed to further enhance their strategic cooperation, consolidate bilateral relations and resolve the Ukraine conflict through peaceful means.

The agreement was reached in a meeting between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin and in Moscow.

In a statement on Tuesday, China’s Foreign Ministry said the two leaders had also discussed the situation in Ukraine.

President XI said that China stands for easing tensions and negotiation and opposes adding fuel to the fire.

He assured Putin that China will continue to play a constructive role in promoting the political settlement of the Ukraine issue.
