Eid moon likely to be sighted on June 4 in Pakistan: Fawad Chaudhry

Islamabad (Staff Report): Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry has said that the Eid moon will likely be sighted on June 4 in Pakistan.

Talking to newsmen on Tuesday, Chaudhry said that the Eid moon will likely be sighted on the 29th fast (June 4), so Eid will be celebrated on June 5 (Wednesday).

Fawad Chaudhry said that the lunar calendar has been sent to the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII). “I had requested the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) to brief Shahab-uddin Popalzai and Mufti Muneebur Rehman in this regard,” said the minister.

Fawad Chaudhry said that Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) and Department of Meteorology (MeT) participated in the making of the calendar.
