Srinagar (Agencies): Indian troops, in their fresh act of state terrorism on Saturday, martyred six more youth in Tral area of Pulwama district, in Indian occupied Kashmir.
According to media reports, youth were martyred during a cordon and search operation jointly launched by Indian army, paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force and Special Operation Group in Arampora area of the district.
Following the operation the Indian authorities suspended mobile and internet services immediately after the killings.
This is pertinent to mention that a curfew-like restrictions continued across occupied Kashmir earlier this week following a renewed wave of killings by Indian troops.
On December 16, Indian forces martyred at least 10 youth in Indian occupied Kashmir's Pulwama district, the Kashmir Media Service reported.
On December 20, the Indian government imposed President’s Rule for the third time in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK) as the Governor’s Rule expired after six months it was imposed in the territory.
The last time the President Rule was imposed in occupied Kashmir was in 1996. President’s Rule was first imposed in the territory in 1986.
Governor's rule was imposed in the occupied valley in view of a political turmoil after the BJP withdrew its 25 legislators from the PDP-BJP ruling coalition, reducing PDP to minority.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday telephoned the United Nations (UN) Secretary General General Antonio Guterres and urged to take the notice of grave human rights violations in Indian occupied Kashmir.
PM Khan, while expressing his concern, also underscored UN’s role to end human rights violations being perpetrated by occupied Indian forces against Kasmiris.
Earlier on Thursday, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi condemned imposition of President's Rule after the Governor's Rule in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir by the Indian government terming it another step in the continuity of Indian atrocities and barbarism.
In a statement, the foreign minister asked the world organisations and defenders of human rights to play their due role in urging India to stop its atrocities on innocent Kashmiris.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi also strongly demanded the UN Secretary General to immediately appoint a special representative on Kashmir issue.
