Lahore/Quetta/Karachi/Peshawar (Staff Report/Agencies): The total number of recovered COVID-19 patients in Pakistan reached 309,136 on Thursday after another 462 virus recoveries were reported during the last 24 hours.
Over the last twenty four hours, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases rose to 325,480 after 736 new coronavirus cases surfaced in the country.
Overall, 142,641 cases were reported in Sindh, 102,107 in Punjab, 38,810 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 15,738 in Balochistan, 18,438 in Islamabad, 4,107 in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) and 3,639 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
According to the government's Covid-19 portal, the death toll related to coronavirus has reached 6,702 with 10 fatalities reported during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) on Wednesday warned that there is an urgent and immediate need to ensure the implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for coronavirus prevention as there has been a clear resurgence in virus cases and deaths.
It is pertinent to mention that the global coronavirus cases have reportedly surpassed 40.7 million and death toll tops 1.1 million.
